An Old Fashioned Community of New Homes

We are families, couples, and individuals with a mission "to work together to nurture and support each other and the land on which we live."

We are a family-friendly cohousing community in Peterborough, NH. Our homes are 'green'—environmentally designed, quality built, and super energy-efficient. The condo homes are clustered along pedestrian ways adjacent to our farm fields and the Nubanusit Brook.

We share 113 acres of farm land, fields and woodlands with trails, a pond, and nearly a mile of riverfront. We contract with our farmer, who operates a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm on our land.

Most neighbors purchase working or non-working shares in the CSA and enjoy weekly produce harvests from spring through fall. All neighbors share in the support of the farm through our monthly dues for expenses such as soil amendments, invasives control, and equipment maintenance. Separately, a group of neighbors raise chickens and make their surplus eggs available for sale.

The Common House and Callie's Common form the heart of the community for twice-weekly optional meals, meetings, planned events, and spontaneous happenings. The Governor's House, an historic farmstead with professional office and studio space, has been used by various residents for endeavors ranging from photography to pottery, engineering consulting, health services, and weaving.

Peterborough, a thriving small town and regional arts and cultural center with "postcard charm", is situated in the heart of the Monadnock region of southwestern New Hampshire. The center of town is less than 1 1/2 miles away by sidewalk. Peterborough area farms, bakeries, and markets have organic foods available year-round. Just a 90-minute drive separates us from Boston, the NH seacoast, the White Mountains, and the Green Mountains in Vermont. Major airline service is close by in Manchester, or from Boston.
